Melee characters need to be close to their enemies, which means they have to expose themselves more than others. You always want to have just enough INT to be able to wear magical armor. INT: Despite what I said earlier, INT does have a place on most STR based builds. I don't know the exact initiative of every enemy in the early access, but I've heard it's anywhere from 12 to 14. Higher is always better, but if you have 20 and your enemies only have 15, you're putting too many points into WIT that could be better spent elsewhere. I like to have a lot of spells, so I tend to invest more points into MEM than others might.
